Born on July 25, 1983, in the Myagdi District of Nepal, he started out in an esteemed Brigade of Gurkhas in the British Army. The brigade is known for recruiting noble soldiers from Nepal.

He wanted more and soon became a member of the UK Special Forces (UKSF), specializing in anti-terrorism and high-risk missions. After serving in the British Army for 16 years and only six years to go for a full pension, he wanted to find the purpose of his life.

Again, in 2024, Within just two years, he summited all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks without supplemental oxygen, an accomplishment that earned him a place in mountaineering history.

Continuing his persuasion of mountains, Nims celebrated his 50th summit to the eight-thousanders with a climb of Shishapangma in just five days. The iconic adventurer also holds the record for the greatest number of summits over 8,000m,41 out of 41!
