Visas obtained on Arrival at the Entry and exit points are termed tourist visas, and once issued, they bear a multiple-entry facility. Tourists flying to Nepal can obtain their visas on arrival at the Immigration offices under the Department through a quick and simple procedure, except for a few nationalities. Tribhuvan International Airport is the only international airport in Nepal. The Immigration Office at TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport), under the Department of Immigration, facilitates tourists flying to Nepal by providing a Visa on Arrival. Likewise, other Entry and Exit points established at the border regions also provide an ‘on-arrival visa’ to foreign nationals hoping to enter Nepal via land.
Here’s how you can acquire the Tourist Visa on Arrival:
Step 1:
- Fill in the Arrival card.
- Fill out the online “Tourist visa” form, either through the official website before arrival, or use the Kiosk machines at the airport. Make sure to print the submission receipt and bring it with you upon arrival, as it is valid for 15 days.
Step 2:
- Make payment at the bank according to your visa requirement (15/30/90 Days)
- Get the receipt. It is advisable to carry cash for the visa fees collection counter, even though you can use different payment methods.
Note: Expect long queues during peak tourism seasons. Consider a visa issued by the Nepalese Diplomatic missions stationed abroad.
