Trekking Season

Nepal is an ideal destination to travel all year round, as different seasons offer varied experiences to the visitors. While winter treks are also quite common among professional summiteers, the fall and spring seasons are considered the most ideal trekking seasons in Nepal.

Between March and May, the weather is best suited for trekking, as the temperature is optimal and there are fewer chances of rain or dramatic weather shifts.  Since the weather and the skies are clearer, the mountain ranges are clearly visible. Likewise, the spring blossoms of rhododendrons and wildflowers make your journey even more interesting. If you are lucky, you might even catch sight of the rare wild birds and animals.

The fall months between late September and mid-November are generally considered the ideal time for trekking in the Himalayas. With stable post-monsoon weather and mild temperatures, it becomes easier to traverse the rugged terrain leading to the high Himalayas or their base camps.  And the views of the snow-capped mountain peaks and ranges are easily spotted even from the valleys of Kathmandu and Pokhara, let alone the mountain villages. Besides, the major festivals in Nepal fall in the fall, making the trek even more vibrant and culturally rich.
